John Holmstrom: cartoonist
turned magazine publisher, was among the first pioneers of the Punk
music genre. Along with cohort Legs McNeil, they are credited with
coining the term "Punk" in 1975 after publishing the first
music magazine in it's namesake and thereby chronicled the
rise to fame of bands such as Blondie, the Ramones, Television, the
Dictators and many more.
John is photographed here on the rooftop accessed via his office,
which was also the location of the romantic scene in the film, Kate
& Leopold staring actress Meg Ryan.
