Accomplished artist,
Arturo Vega, has long been refered to as the 5th Ramone and "keeper
of the flame" serving as the infamous band's creative director
from the group's beginning until their end. Arturo also designed the
Ramones trademark logo which can be seen on a countless number
of t-shirts and band merchandise across the globe. The small bust statue pictured in this portrait has also appeared in the numerous published photographs of fine art photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe, as he would occasionally drop by Arturo's loft to borrow it. Photographed August 23, 2001 NYC |
